SWEDISH STYLIST, JENNIFER JANSCH, IS THE OWNER AND FOUNDER OF BAG-ALL.

JENNIFER STARTED THE COMPANY BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, SHE WANTED DO SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. SO WITH NO MONEY OR BUSINESS TRAINING, SHE ROLLED UP HER SLEEVES IN 2013 AND STARTED ON HER JOURNEY TO CREATE BAG-ALL.

AT THAT TIME, JENNIFER WAS LIVING IN NEW YORK CITY WITH HER THREE DAUGHTERS AND HER HUSBAND OF 20 YEARS, MIKAEL. THEY HAVE SINCE MOVED TO THE INDONESIAN ISLAND OF BALI. READ MORE ABOUT HER PHILOSOPHY AND JOURNEY BELOW.

Hi and welcome to Bag-all!

I am so grateful that you are taking the time to find out more about Bag-all.

My name is Jennifer Jansch and I started Bag-All because becoming a mother of three daughters made me feel an urgency to do something for the environment. I strongly felt like I needed not only to THINK about making changes but to actually start DOING something towards preserving and taking care of our beautiful planet.

One of the things that made the most sense to me was working with the concept of REUSE. When you reuse an item you don't have to produce a new item. For example, when you use a refillable water bottle, you avoid all of the new plastic water bottles that would be created and then discarded.

Reusing saves natural resources required to manufacture items and saves the planet from more garbage. But, best of all, it is free so absolutely everyone can do it rich or poor. Reusing is a win-win all around!

Initially I knew I wanted to create a product that could be reused, but what should it be?

By chance I came across small environmental groups that were talking about the idea of reusable fabric gift bags. This was a new concept to me. Instead of wrapping your gifts in paper you would use fabric bags which could be used hundreds, if not thousands, of times. To me this was a genius concept!

I had known about the toxic process of creating paper, from the harvesting of forests, to the bleaching and chemical processes that are used to make the wrapping paper. Then, the paper has to be transported across the globe, only to become garbage in seconds. This is an all around negative cycle.

My thought was that if I could design really cute bags, thenpeople would make the better choice when wrapping gifts.

There are so many advantages to the giftbags besides thesustainability aspect. For example, the bag itself becomesa gift! If you don't want to give it away, you can keep it inthe family and give it back and forth every time there is abirthday or holiday.

They also become cheaper than paperafter only a few uses and can be used hundreds of times. Gift bags also require no tape, ribbons, etc. so it makes the gift wrapping super easy.

With the gift bag youare instantly ready to go and your gift is wrapped in amatter of seconds! And because you are always reusingyour fabric bag, it produces no waste!!!

As I love gift bags so much and hope everyone will startusing them, I have made a step-by-step tutorial on howyou can make your own gift bags just like the ones we sellhere at Bag-all! The PDF, which you can download, is inthe ABOUT section.

After sewing the first gift bags myself and giving them to friends, they told me they used the gift bags for storing all sorts of things such as their hairdryer, shoes, camera etc...

I quickly realized that people needed fabric bags for all sorts of things. This is how the Bag-all organizing collection was born. Today we have hundreds of prints and styles and we are constantly adding more. A lot of the prints are ideas and requests from you customers. So if you have any ideas, requests, comments, or questions please don't hesitate to e-mail us at info@bag-all.com.

I opened my first Bag-all store on 219 Mott Street in New York in October 2014. We have since opened stores in Stockholm, Sweden and in Sydney, Australia.I truly hope I will see you in one of the stores soon!
